There is photo of this car in our local paper. It was bought in 1956 and was red. Is there any record of this car?

Alas not on the current printed Register, Gordon, but perhaps our Registrar, Robin Hamblett may have some info about the car in his archived records?

I have no records of PO 4022, but was registered in West Sussex, I would think in early 1931.
PO 1357 - 2M 0734 was built - 2 seater 18.9.29,
PO 1681 - 2M 1004 was built - 2 seater 17.2.30,
PO 3838 - CM 2471 was built as a coupe 15.12.30.
A copy of the picture would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can I have the radiator and hubcaps please???

What people did to keep these cars running,

I find it quite amazing and rather uplifting.

Lets hope it turns up.

Cheers

Hi Peter,

I have a set of the "bolt on" spinners if you want them?

On the same subject, and apologies for hijacking Gordon's post, during search for the history of my car I have made contact with a museum in Belgium. This was their reply to my request for any known history of MG 748.
"Dear Peter,
We own an M type MG and that entered the collection already several decades. It’s the only M type we ever owned.
We think it’s a 1932 model with chassis number 2M3285 and engine number 3050A. it is still in not restored condition. Body is bad and we wonder if it wasn’t transformed by the last owner.
We never heard of a M type in a Belgian museum. In the sixties a small museum opened sometimes their doors and was owned by Herbosch. The man had to sell his collection (and died the following year), but there was no M type between the dozen of cars.
Another museum opened during nearly a year at Brussels : the Charly De Pauw collection. Himself didn’t have a M type neither about the 65 cars he possessed. That collection was completely sold out by his sons after his death the following year (1986).
In that last museum some cars were on loan by members of the RVCCB. (Veteran Club Belgium. I propose you take contact with them to ask if they know about such a MG among the members car’s.
Wish you success with your research work!
Yours sincerely,
Ivan Mahy

By the way, do you know if a copy body is available?"
I have passed this information to Robin Hamblett

and to Ian Grace at VMR

Peter,
It looks as though the Belgium M Type might still be fitted with its original engine.

This Forum and the Website run by our Dutch friends provides such a wealth of information about M Types, I am sure that Ivan Mahy in Belgium will be delighted to keep in regular contact with us.

I hope that you have been able to advise him about the avalability of new M Type bodies.

Colin B. (Still hoping for information about 2M2739 - Reg No LJ3782)
