J Ben Dyke Ackland received the ex Jack Bastock car for his 21st Birthday in December 1937, and used it extensively for trialling in 1938 and 1939.
The photograph was taken on Juniper Hill in the Cotswolds, but when was it? Note his competition number is No. 1. He did compete in the 1938 London Gloucester trial, which included Juniper, but his competition number is unknown. Perhaps you have a copy of The Sports Car and would be able to find the answer, please.
