Talking to a Yankee, he said he had an old MG which had a supercharged six cylinder engine ( engine and gearbox long gone ) . Naturally I had visions of that long lost K3. So I asked for photos as attached. Looks to me like an MG radiator shell and maybe axles, but not much more MG content. Any suggestion on car make/model? Does plate 1818UG give any clues. Having trouble uploading more than one photo, I do have several more.
Best regards from Canada and Happy New year, Bob

Hi Bob. The radiator shell looks J type to me. Has chassis been cut? Looking through the gap, there looks to be an awkward angle in the rail. Is there a chassis stamp on the dumb iron casting?

Regards

Peter, the front chassis drop behind the front springs seems too much for an M type? Did your car have 1818UG registration? Did it use a 6 cylinder supercharged engine? Two more photos, looks like an MG TD handbrake?

MG bonnet top perhaps, even a 6 cylinder one, and feet from J bonnet clips on the driver's side.

late 1950's Leeds registration
It seem to have 3 side laced MMM wheels and one 16" centre laced on the rear offside!!

Surely with front swinging shackles for the suspension it can only be M type if it is Triple M based? The chassis step rear of the shackles is nothing like an M type however. It is deeper and the angle is sharper. I don't recognise much else that could be M type though.

If the bonnet top is MMM there will probably be a chassis number stamped on the hinge, lift the driver's side and it should be visible... And someone might want one... and someone might want the radiator surround too, probably not the headlamps though, unless they are Rotax, perhaps...

Its an F type rad shell on this car.

The front section of the chassis does not arch over the front axle possibly suggesting that these are not MG dumb iron castings as I doubt they could work at this angle. Riley 9 chassis maybe??? Either way, it appears that there is little more than an F rad shell left here!

Oh it is an F one. Well done Rich.

I wonder what the bonnet top is from... will anyone be able to tell us?

Cheers
