Hi All
I am starting a complete chassis up rebuild of J3435. Most of the car is original and not much will have to be replaced. I am interested in the history of it and would like to know if anyone has any details and info for me. I attach a picture of the car in the 1960's in Kenilworth in Cape Town, South Africa

Hi Denis

Welcome to the forum.

You can obtain a copy of the information of the factory records by contacting John Innes at the MG Car Club in Abingdon. There is usually a small fee.

Also our Registrar Robin Hamblett may have some information although the car does not appear in the 2012 printed Triple-M Register.

Denis,

This should get you started.

And from this I see that your car started down the production line the same day as mine - J3437. With luck the Club offices will have the guarantee card and copies of any correspondence the factory had with the original owner. I got lots of great info on mine so hopefully you will be able to as well.

Why not write to John Inness as George suggested? His email address is johninness@mgcc.co.uk (note the spelling of his name with two 's's at the end.
