The current issue of the Triple-M Register Bulletin has an article on the above German racing driver. His identity has been confused with that of Maurice H Baumer the partner of John Ludovic Ford in the garage business of Cowden Service Ltd. of Dove Mews, South Kensington, London, SW5. J L Ford & M H Baumer entered C0291, K3027 & K3028 in races in period 1933-1937. See Motor Sport Nov.1935 (advertisement) & K3 Dossier, also www.gt40mk1.plus.com/mg_c0291 There is no record to indicate that Walter Baumer ever competed with an MG. |

Jay. I may have missed his name , but I assume 'The Search for C-Type 0291 was written by Alastair Ward. I met him on a few occasions when he was researching the car , generally because I was with my pal , Robin Gordon , owner of C0290 . Ray. |

The German driver Baumer (his name has two points above the a, for mutated vowel) raced Austins and later BMW an Mercedes. Although a main competitor for Bobby Kohlrausch, both were good friends as seen in the photo below. Gerhard
