I found this rather unusual Duckhams/MG quart oil can at an autojumble a couple of years ago. Can anyone shed any light on it as I haven't seen another. I think it's probably pre war and wondered if it would of originally been mounted on the bulkhead on a bracket? It's in fairly good condition for its age. Any thoughts greatfully received. The Richard Edmonds Automobilia auction comin up onMarch 1 lists several tins like this, some with the brackets.

I think these came with M-types clipped inside the boot. This one apparently came with 2M/371 .

In fact you can see one in the right hand period picture of a partly customised boot .The petrol tin on the left was added by the owner.

This should settle once and for all the important question as to whether the 'M-Type' boot-stay was straight or had a kink part-way along the length.
