Transport Collector Auctions are selling the Jonathan Wood motoring archive on March 9th in Newbury. It contains several Lots of MG books and a tantalising two-drawer filing cabinet described as full of MG written and photo material 'from the Bullnose era onwards.........'

If the Club has a research library, this item should be in it.

Bob.

I made Peter Neal, the MGCC Archivist at Kimber House aware of the auction a while back and he is/has obtaining a catalogue. Decisions will then be made about the items for sale.

Excellent.

Peter Card of TCA is normally good at providing both catalogues and information so over to you.

Does anyone know what the outcome of the auction was?

I gather that the filing cabinet of material did indeed attract the Club’s attention as it contained some MG material, but upon enquiry that material was considered, in the archivist's informed opinion, to be mainly copies of papers and other media that Jonathan Wood had accumulated as a journalist/writer – not originals.

The Club did bid for other items in the sale and was successful in obtaining a works drawing of EX234, the 1964 project to develop the MGB.

It also bid (unsuccessfully) for a George Eyston ashtray.

Hope this helps flesh out the details!
