Yesterday I spent a few lovely hours at the old racing circuit in Chimay (Belgium)http://forix.autosport.com/8w/chimay.html. Surely you will all remember vividly the Grand Prix victory of Eddy Hertzberger in K3031 in 1936?

We also met a few officials of the circuit and one of them had brought a photobook with a lot of lovely racing pictures. I have made a few photos with my cellphone that I would like to share with you.

Kind regards,
Maurice

Hi Maurice

What lovely photos, I wonder if they have been seen before?

I expect it will not take our resident experts long to identify the cars. The last two look very much like photos of a Q type, the wheelbase and track certainly look to be Q type?

The last one of your J2 looks nice also.

Apart from the K and J it is indeed a Q.
And it was an orange Q......

Orange triple M cars who would have thought of that ;)

I think the first one, with the car being unloaded from the trailer, is probably at Montlhéry: Herkuleyns was a regular competitor in AGACI meetings there.

The K3 could be at Montlhéry too - in front of the lock-ups under the banking. Note also the distinctive French-style number 2 painted on the grille.

Third one: a hillclimb! Somewhere!

Those concrete pits in the fourth one are at Avus.

I think you are right.
The text on the trailer in the first picture says:
"Hans Herkuleyns drives with BOSCH sparkplugs"

Hi All,

The wonderful article by Wiard Krook in the 2004 Yearbook reveals it all: As Jeremy says, all the pictures show Herkuleyns' QA0253.
The first picture shows the car back in the Netherlands after it had taken the international 1km record at Montlhéry and the third picture was taken at the Gross Glockner hill climb in Austria on August 4 1935.

Regards,
Cat
