Is it worth having unleaded inserts fitted to a M Type that will probabaly only do 500 mmiles per year (if lucky)? Was petrol leaded in the 1930s anyway ? Also - I have lost the box which stored my valves - if anyone has a set for sale please let me know.
I am using original valves in my M (which lets face it gets fairly thrashed) and have no signs of valve recession yet running on unleaded with castrol valve master added.
I too intend to use good original valves and guides in my M-type till such times as they need to be replaced. After all, to remove and fit the head is not such a major job.
I agree with Richard above. I have also used my M type hard for around 8 years and have had no trouble with the valves. I also use Castrol Valvemaster as recommended by the VSCC research following the demise of leaded fuel. James
