I have 3 Lucas L150 lamp shells 9" one of which is metal not brass and does not have any rivets on the mounting bracket. Does any one have any ideas how old and what the lamp may suit. I have the rim and lens also. The rim is also metal and the lens is frosted with a beveled edge, not seen one like this before? These are surplus to requirements so happy to part with them. The two brass shells are bettered but repairable and the metal one (painted black) is very good condition. Will try and add photograph. Thanks, Ashley |

The lamps were original fittings for 1930s Rovers and many other marques. the frosted glass is from 1935-6. It was common to have one ' tipping ' reflector operated by a solenoid and one non tipping, this would extinguish on dipping the headlights. To give you an idea of value I bought a complete pair in good condition for £150 about two years ago.

Chris, Thank you, I have L150s on my N Type but with sealed beam units so after rims, lenses and guts. I am unsure what lens is correct? I have seen cars with the fluted design and frosted with un frosted centre. I will keep the metal shell, rim and glass but if anyone wants the two brass shells they are welcome to them FOC just pay for postage and a small donation to cancer research. |
