Somewhere I have seen a factory photo of a show car being prepared, perhaps for the Olympia Motor Show. My recollection is that there is a guy either polishing the car or perhaps just pushing it. I have gone through the usual MG books on my bookshelf but darned if I can find it. Does it ring a bell with anyone?

There is a pic of Henry Stone pushing a car to a stand in a show in the book 'the insomnia crew' - could that be what you are looking for?

Thanks for the suggestion, Graham, but I'm familiar with that one (he's pushing a P Airline) and it's not the one I'm thinking of. Maybe I just dreamt it!
