Hi Bob

The Registration number MG3111 is unfortunately not shown in the printed Triple-M Register.

Regards

Evidently, George.

Chassis PA 0418, Engine 653AP, registered 28:03:34.

Cream, re-painted green. Last taxed 1953.

Do any bits of it survive?

Bob.

Mike Allison's files say P0418 is now registered 794 UXF. Its Register number is 3394.

The same source also has an RF.60 for J.2 RD 4012, which appears to have been in use throughout WW2.

More interest for the Registrar/

The J2 is J2603. There is no record of this car since it was sold on 2/1/33. One more little bit of info.....

Not strictly true, since the Log Book is a record of the car's existence until 1944.

Perhaps this was driven by the apocryphal Squadron-Leader.

It would be nice if the owner of PA 0418 should buy the log book and reunite the car with its original registration using the V&65 scheme, as long as the chassis number still ties up.

However MG 3111 is now on a 2004 PEUGEOT DIESEL 3 DOOR HATCHBACK (206 GTI HDI 110).

According to the DVLA website MG registered as 794 UXF (a series that was used by the DVLA for age related imports or lost registrations)is due to be retaxed at the end of November so alive today.

According to the National Tyres site where one puts in a registration and it will you the car type, it confirms 794 UXF is a 1934 Mg
and
MG 3111 is a 2004 PEUGEOT DIESEL 3 DOOR HATCHBACK (206 GTI HDI 110).

I see that the vendor is a rare book company whose details are available on the ebay listing (Coincidentally, their telephone dialling code is 1934). With 4 days to go, might it be possible for the PA's owner to ask them if they would withdraw it & come to a deal with him?

Someone should bid on this and donate to the register perhaps? Funds to be refunded when/if the owner appears? Just a thought.. :)

If Graham succeeds I think a whip-round would be in order.
