According to the Register MG 4514 is PB 0690 not 0691. Suspect finger trouble. |

The PB , chassis 0690, is shown in the Register as Phoebe.
Phoebe used to be owned and raced by the late Nigel Musselwhite, it had a light weight body with a slab tank. It subsequently went to Peter Gregory who rebuilt the car with the Q style body but keeping the standard wheelbase. This was early in Peter's career before he started on K3 reps. I went to buy the car but thought the asking price was too high and instead built my own car, ARY. 614 - PB0462, which current owner Mike Dowley has raced with much success.

Hi Mark,
Forgot to mention that your Dad Tony must have competed against Nigel when he raced Phoebe? It was certainly a very competitive car.

I have a pic of a PA(?) - Italian entered - in the 1947 race, which was before the event regained its international status. It is shown in Mike Lawrence's book 'The Mille Miglia', entered by 'Carrachi', but does not appear in the results.
Presumably it would have been in the 1100cc class, as was one Nuvolari, who drove a magnificent race with failing health, failing to win but being described as 'the moral winner'. Not sure that description is the one he would have preferred...
Regards, Graham
