The two gear levers at the top are J2. The one at the bottom is similar but not the same.

What is it?

Probably P or N type. What are the dimensions?

I also think the lever must be for P/Ns which are of a shorter length than the J/Ls.

The lever feels like a robust version of the J2 lever - quite pleasingly strong . The J2 lever feels quite delicate by comparison.

The rough measurements are indicated below.

Sam,
On my P Type lever your 2" dimension is 1 7/8" and the 5 3/42 one is 5"

I have a P Type lever in my hand right now and the measurements agree with Maurice's.

The length of the bottom bit of the shaft from the bottom of the central ball to the end of the little ball is 2".

I also have a J Type lever which differs in that the length of the top shaft is 6½”.

Yours is a bit of a "hybrid".

Bob, that is correct. The distance from the 1" ball to the end of the little ball is indeed 2" - perspective is of course the reason for the confusion.

Thanks Bob and Maurice for the prompt and convincing identification. It will be tested in a P-type shortly to make certain sure.
