I don't suppose any Triple Mers would poo-poo the suggestion not to use mobiles at a filling station however, I have just come accross this in a light aviation mag.



It would seem wise to have one's phone actually switched off while on the forecourt!

Well Ian, you may obviously do as you wish. I merely said "an aviation mag". It was in fact in the January 2014 (a friend has just given it to me) issue of "Light Aviation", the magazine of The Light Aircraft Association; they seem to think it credible.

For what its worth I have just done 30yrs in the fire service and I've never attended an incident of this nature or been warned/trained about potential incidents.

Now I've said that, I bet we get one tomorrow ;-)

Sounds like a case for the "Mythbusters". Personally, I would prefer to be over-cautious rather than risk roasting the crown jewels.
