The dynamo I have is a DDS5, 6v dynamo.
My plan was to replace the insides with an alternator in the same way as a conversion done by Horst.
However, the alternator windings are not going to fit.
Is a 6v dynamo smaller diameter than a 12v P-Type one (that I need?)
Thanks
Paul.

Hi Paul,
There are 2 sizes of 6v dynamo. If yours is the smaller one the holes on the baseplate will not align with mounting holes in your front housing. If they do the dynamo is the larger size, if not you need another dynamo.
Regards,
Garry

Thanks Garry,
It does line up with the front housing I have.
Hmm, so I wonder how Horst got his alternator windings to fit..
Thanks
