Hi
In my research into dealerships, I have come across this brilliant image of an M-type in the showroom of Micklegate Motor Company (Unfortunately, I have checked, and the M-type ins't on the current register under HD 4431).

I have also checked the registration index and I am taking an educated guess that the dealership was based in Dewsbury, would I be correct?
This is a dealership I haven't come across, were they a well known MG dealer? It would be great to know if any surviving MMM's were supplied by them.
Thanks
Matthew

HD was indeed a Dewsbury issue, one of the slowest of all in England taking from April 1913 to November 1953, that is nos 1 - 9999. HD4431 was issued in 1931, between 4337 and 4562 the same year, only 225 vehicles. The dealer has three manufacturers signs in the showroom windows, so should be easy to trace, as should the car. HD records are held in Wakefield. That door looks just wide enough for HD4431 to motor through. |
