Please could anyone help me with information regarding MG PB registration BPX 45.
My father owned this car in the 1950's in Cambridge, UK. It was sold to an American student at Cambridge University and he took it back to the States with him when he returned.
It would be great to get some current information regarding it's whereabouts/ownership. I know that it featured in a photograph on a recent discussion, and in a book called "MG's on patrol-The MG police cars and the men and women who used them" by Andrea Green. The article also said that it was owned by a J.E.Cushman in the States.
I would really appreciate any further information regarding BPX 45, as would my father who is now in his 80's and has a real fondness for this car.
Thanks in anticipation. |

Hello Frankie,
According to the Register Listing BPX 45 is chassis PB0774 and was the last but one PB to have been built. Supposedly it's still with Mr Cushman in America where it has been since 1963, or so the Listing says. Registrar Graham Arrondelle will hopefully know more!
Regards, Cat

Yes, James Cushman is still the owner of the car and is still a current member of the NAMMMR. He has no email address listed, but I will provide a phone number directly via forum mail. Interestingly, I was recently approached about the last PB engine made (1000 APB) which is apparently beyond repair, but which I have put the owner in touch with two people who may be able to help.

To those who were seeking information about PB0774, I sorry to report that the owner Jim Cushman has passed away. I have no idea what has or will happen to his car.
