Seeing Ian Judd's reference to radiator muffs on the thread about M Type hoods made me wonder if there is anyone who makes such things nowadays? This photo shows a nicely tailored one on a J3. Any ideas, folks?

Heh, heh, tank tape indeed. You must have missed my reference to "nicely tailored"!

Simon

If you want it "nicely tailored", you cut the tape neatly with a pair of scissors rather than tearing it off the roll by hand.

Simon,
Mine is very like the one on the J3. It's made by Brooks - known more for bicycle saddles - and is Rexine backed with felt. If you want to make one, or have one made, I'm happy to supply the measurements, construction details etc.

Here's one you could have made to match your green tonneau cover!

Ian,
Many thanks. I'll drop you a line for more info.

Cat,
Not a bad option but I rather like the one on the J3

As for the rest of the suggestions............

Tim is right, Matthew. It is J3752. The headlamps are Bosch JL200 units as fitted to Mercedes. They must have taken at least 10 mph off the top speed.

John

Here's another closeup.
