F1464, a restored 2-seater, is for sale at HVA on March 18th. (www.hvauctions.com). Some non-MG parts fitted.

Estimate £8000 - 10.000.

On the register as ex-salonette with Coventry Climax engine. The auction people says it now has a Ford 1600 cc engine.
Good basis for returning it to F-Type spec. I think.

£9,300 plus buyers premium seems a staggering amount for a rolling chassis on 18 inch centre laced wheels and an F type rad. Bonnet was not original so very little else left which was original.I wonder where the buyer sees the value in the car?

I paid £8000 with £2500 worth of new S&V spares thrown in ( ie, net £5500 ) with two speedos , sold one restored, sold four wheels, rear hubs and axles, bought new same . ( -£500 ) sold 8" brakes and backplates, bought 12" backplates only. I have bought some other items ( + £1000 )and straightened the front axle ( £180 ). So far my one and a half J2s have cost me £7200, after this weekend it may be two J2s, I have to break into Michael Birds lockup to see whats in there ( the rest of the second J2 or whatever it is ? )
