For the modest sum of £9 I have just purchased a CD that shows a compilation of Movietone Paramount and Gaumont silent news films from the period 1931 to 1935 produced for the MG Car Company featuring their many track and record breaking activities.

Some of our older members will recall in the 50s and 60s visiting a motor club film night shown in village halls etc. Jim Wilkie has been collecting these films on many subjects for the past 40 years and has a complete listing on his web site.
The MG one in B&W of course has suffered from the problems of storage but nevertheless is a great record of our cars in action although somewhat speeded up as the projector used was for sound speed although the film is silent. In addition as the viewing from which this CD is recorded is at a recent showing there are some audience comments and the odd head bobbing into view.
Everything from C to R types plus EX127 at Brooklands, Montlhery, Ireland, Isle of Man, Shelsley, Southport, Continental and Australian events.
Pour a drink, raise it to the intrepid conductors and enjoy 40 minutes of bliss!
