The MG Car Club Victoria, Australia, has over the last year or so extended its clubrooms by purchasing and fitting out the adjoining unit in a light industrial complex. There is a very short walkway between the old and new premises. Our creative architect and Club member hit on the idea of having a graffiti artist decorate one of the walls. He gave the artist some simple directions and a quantity of old images and the result is spectacular, with the hero being K3 JB1472. This work was finished a day or so ago just in time for the MG National Meeting that the Club is hosting over Easter. It will attract considerable attention! Being an MGA man who, amongst other MGs owns an MGA Sebring Coupe, our architect prevailed on the artist to also include one of the 1955 LeMans MGAs. The K3 is very eye catching and tends to follow one around the room as do the eyes of some portraits. Admirers of Dudley Moore and Peter Cook might recall their skit on that phenomena.
I note that there is an extensive thread on JB1475 from 2011 now archived on the General Information Forum and one contributor spoke of JB1475 and JB1472 being photographed parked together outside the clubhouse at Brooklands.
