Does anyone out there have an M-type 3 speed gear selector assy they would love to sell?
I have what I believe to be a later gearbox where the selectors are orientated in an opposite direction to that of the early M/Morris boxes with the transmission brake.

I have the impression that the insides of 3 speed M-type gearboxes did not change when the early transmission brake was deleted.

Nigel, is it possible your gearbox is from a Wolseley? The pictures below relate to a Wolseley box.The bulge below the inspection window looks unfamiliar .

The box below is from a Minor without a transmission brake.

I understand the Wolseley box had a first gear ratio of 3.184 : 1 but the Minor/ M-type was 3.5 : 1 .

Thank you Sam for your excellent reply and I think you are dead right that it is in fact a wolseley version. Garry was also pretty sure that there was no change in the M-type boxes internally.
I am quite keen to use this box as the gears are wider and has a larger diameter layshaft.
