Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year to all , especially those who have helped me research my two J2s.
Now that I am have the full story of the demise of D. H. Cottingham and J4129, as its Christmas with a New Year round the corner I am releasing a photo of Cottinghams J2 Racer's chassis stamping J4129. Sorry for the quality, but difficult to get the picture due to the position, contents and surroundings of the Cyprus lock up.

Attached emailed message from Angela Bird, widow of Michael Bird, which may be of interest. sent 27th February 2016.

Quote : ' Dear Chris, I am back from the UK trip and I have had a busy few days getting back into Cyprus life. Had a great trip and will tell you all about it when I see you. My garden looks lovely with the almond trees in bloom.
I am so excited to see the photos ' WITH WHEELS '...how good is that. I see also you have the petrol tank mounted on the back, I guess that is just tempory.

Oh Chris, Mick will be beaming down, he used to say when he got to the stage of the rolling chassis he would really feel he was making progress.

I'd love to see you when you have time and I am pleased that your recent spell of ill health has passed. I have some more boxes of parts for you, they look important, I don't know what they are, also you have the special lighting equipment and the memorabilia from Mr. Cottingham already packed for you to take. I am very sure that Mick knew nothing of the history involving Mr. Cottinghams as he never mentioned it, the memorabilia I am sure he just assumed was collected along the way by maybe the American pilot he bought the car from.

Till then love from me and the ***** cats, Angela xxx

Thankyou Jeremy, I also wish to thank Mike Allison for his email with the information on Philip Flower. The plaque was found by a friend and purchased at Beaulieu Autojumble, my son who is babysitting our house who made up the ' Cottingham Set ' ( We are currently overseas ).

Found next to a dustbin ready for collection, this vintage picture frame, saved by me to enclose Cottinghams badges and artifacts after restoration. Amazing what some folk throw away.
