Is there anyone on this great forum with information or history on my M-Type 2M2735. It was recorded in the factory chassis file on April 8, 1931 with engine 2500A and registered with the DVLA on May 22, 1931 with WM 641. It is also listed in the register with number 1212. I have no information other than the person from who I bought the car at the MG meeting in Silverstone in 2002.
The engine is since replaced with 2176 from chassis 2M2422
Any help, hints, or tips welcomed. Thanks and MGreetings,

My apologies, the original post continued a typo in the registration number. It is WM 6411 (and not WM 641). The following is the corrected version.

The original car was Red 2 seater and has a date of 7th April 1931. The original engine number was 2500A but I now have it recorded as 2176A. I have two photos of it in 2005 at Silverstone, but the computer did not allow me to download as they had the wrong extensions! Don't know what that means!! Cheers, Mike

Mike, the photos need to have an extension of .JPG and be less that 1 MB in size. If the format is not a JPEG (.JPG) open it is Windows Paint or any other graphics program and export it as a JPEG (with a .JPG suffix) and it should then load. If you are unable to do so, email it to me at lew (at) roundaboutmanor (dot) com and I'll forward to Reinout.
Reinout, since it is on the UK register, it is possible that our UK Registrar may have a file on your car. Graham has been a little missing in action recently, but I'm confident we will hear from him soon.

Hello Lew and Mike,
Thanks for your response and help.
Emma was in the USA since 2002, so the Silverstone photos must be older or a different M-Type. Graham was already able to help with som of the numbers, but no previous owners. The chassis file from John Inness shows April 8. (See the last line on the left page) Not that one day on 84 years makes a lot of difference, but it would maybe be interesting to know where it is listed as April 7?

Not so much missing, more running to stand still! I can't always respond to website queries as well as direct emails, so I sometimes leave it to others who are equally well informed...
Regards, Graham

To cover Mike's lack of pic - here is the car at Silverstone in 2002. At that time I was told that the car had just been restored by Barrie Dean and was on it's way to the USA. The 1982 Register has the car belonging to Barrie D at that time.

Thanks for the photo's. I do remember the scenes very well because it was me who bought it from Barrie Dean and brought it over to the US, where it has been since. I know the name of the person who sold the chassis to Barrie around 1970. It was first registered as WM 6411 on May 22, 1931. I would love to find out some of the history between 1931 and 1970.
Any hints or tips would be appreciated.
