I have been unable to obtain a new pair of J2 rocker shafts from the usual suppliers but my friend (who is doing the rebuild) has been able to find a possible source for correctly ground shafts but they would need to be drilled appropriately. He could work out where to drill by going back to first principles but suggests it would be easier if I borrow a pair to use as patterns.
Has anyone a pair of J2 rocker shafts any condition but suitable as patterns which I could borrow for a little while, please?
May be outside your timescales although I have another import of chrome moly now coming in shortly although I have to then take the lengths in for centreless grinding before machining up.
If in the meantime you are sourcing mild steel tubing for your engine then if it helps, I can machine your pair up for you using the jig.
