there are two, headlamps are different distance apart.
Early cars ad them wide (looked good (in my opinion) but this caused air-flow problems. Brackets were devised to overcome this by moving the headlamps closer together. By J3485 (early swept wing car) this mod had been incorporated into the stay castings So early swept wing cars had their headlamps close together. I am fairly certain they reverted to original later.
There are also reproductions around but these may be without the hole down the middle for the wiring.
Using the term 'early' doesn’t help much but luckily the good ol' Parts List tells all.
The revised headlight mounting brackets with the lights moved closer together was introduced at J3331. This continued in use up to J3590 after which the lights were moved outwards once again. So J3699 would have the later pattern wing stays with the headlights back, more or less, to their original position.
There was a thread some months ago about the differences in the last version of the wing stay which brought the headlights uncomfortably close to the wing but I can’t find it. Perhaps the search function has been disrupted by the current Windows outages?
