I was talking to a chap today who once owned M-type YJ 42 pictured here.

I hope whoever these pictures originated from has no objection to them appearing here.
Has anyone any information about the car as it stands today? The one time owner would be happy to share his experiences of the car back in the 1970's. Here he is in YJ 42 doing the Craigantlet Hill Climb back then.

Hi Sam
The car is listed in the 2015 printed Register and is described as being rebuilt to 12/12 spec, hydraulic brakes, 4 speed box. The car is listed as being owned by a lady.
I hope someone contacts the owner who I am sue would love the photos. Anyone recognise the lady driver?

The engine number is not very 'MG' - I gather it had a Ford engine (E93A ?) in the Hill Climb.
The name "Mrs Nicola Walker" is written bottom right with an Austin connection.

Hi Sam,
It may be nothing but the car looks possibly like one that was at the VSCC Prescott Hill climb a few years ago (2 or 3). It was in the competitors field on a trailer, so not sure if it actually competed or not as I can't recall it actually doing a run. I only remember it as it was a 12/12, and had the spare on the boot lid, and a short 2+2 registration. I did take a couple of photos at the time, and am trawling through loads of old CD's to see if I can find it..

You can send the fee for the photos, or take it off the charges for going up Craigantlet nest year!!! The pictures were taken on the Kimber a few years ago, 24th April 2004, and the hill was on farm land not far from Cerne Abbas. Cheers,

Thanks Mike. I just could not recall where the pictures came from. Please feel free to use Craigantlet any time you wish.

Back in action! VSCC Winter Driving Tests at Bicester last Saturday. Shouldn't be too hard to track the driver's name and contact details now!

Cheers, Cat |
