An aged aunt of my wife's recently mentioned that her long-deceased husband used to own an MG. She thought it was an F-type. She has just sent me some pictures she has found and I promised I would see if I could find out anything about it. It looks more like a P-type to me but I wondered if anyone knows if it still exists. The reg. no. is NJ 3136.

No I don't think so, though he was a bit of a petrolhead.

Hi Andrew

I agree the car looks like a P type.

Unfortunately the Register data base does not have a record of the Registration number NJ 3136.

The town in the background I think (but not completely sure) is Ludlow.

Yes I'll second the Ludlow vote; I know Ludlow very well

As a matter of interest, the records office at The Maltings, Lewes (which looked after East Sussex) has now been closed and everything transferred to a new archive, known as The Keep, Moulscombe, Brighton, just down the road from The University of Sussex. The Keep has its own website from which contact details can be obtained.

The Keep also looks after all records from Chichester (i.e. West Sussex) and the former county Boroughs of Brighton and Eastbourne. The staff are very professional and are keen to assist any enquirers.
