This PA? belonged to John Davey of Beckford Manor. It was purchased for him by his father in Cheltenham, around 1935. Has the car survived? Any information on the vehicle would be of much interest. Thank you.

I agree the car is in fact an L1, apart from the noted windscreen & headlamps I think it is possible to see the radiator surround is L type.

L0451 methinks if the Reg No. is MG 2693. This car is now in The Netherlands. If the number is MG 2698, there is a suggesion that the car was a J, which it doesn't seem to be.

Thank you all for your replies. Sorry I have not responded earlier. I have been away. Yes, Sam, this is a still from a video made from an old film, which is now with Patrick Davey.

The registration number has now been confirmed by the family as MG 2696. However, so far no other pictures have been found. Again, please, any information on the vehicle would be much appreciated. Thank you.

The car is an L1, L0460, but it is not known to survive. First owner was University motors, and it was a demo car, completed 29th May 1933, released 1st September, first registered 19th September 1933. The complete chassis files, which I don't have access to, may explain the long gaps between completion and release, presumably it went back to the works for tidying up before being sold as new! That's all we have, I'm sorry to say.
Regards, Graham
