My MGND was supplied by University Motors to R M Archibald in July 1934 with the registration MG3469
It passed through 4 hands before being owned by John Thompson in 1966. He was part of the Thompson family who owned Thompson Motor Pressing Ltd of Ettingshall, Wolverhampton. This company originally made chassis for Rolls Royce and Rover in the 50’s and 60’s before growing into an international engineering company before being taken over by Clarke Chapman.
I did find a Thompson of Ettingshall on Ancestry.com,but he advised me that he no longer had contact with the family. It is possible the John did some trialling and/or hill climbing as a pair of 16” wheels were among the car parts that came with the engine and chassis.
The Photo was, I think, taken in the 60’s.
