As recently as 1976 I got a cylinder head for my J2 for £15 from Richardson's. It was a good 'un too as when the engine was with Baynton Jones for assembly they remarked that they couldn't recall when they'd last seen a J2 head that hadn't been skimmed. Mind you, they still fitted it unskimmed which rather negated the potential benefits if the fancy valves, pistons, cam etc., they had fitted. Once the CR was raised, however, things were much improved.

My NB was bought from Richardsons in 1968 and exported to Holland where it lay until 2009. I dont suppose you saw it there when you and your lady rummaged around. Photo of the car in 1968 attached

Just come across an old Bone catalogue giving the address in Steyning before the move to Greenwich;
