Said to be ca. 1966. A K2 perhaps? And if so, which one?

Hi Cat

Lovely photo, if only the roads were still that quiet.

The MG is I think a K tourer, that strange paint scheme might give someone a clue as to identity.

The location is South Hants and near to the New Forest and Bealieu. Going by the Farina styled Austin/Morris I guess the date must be in the 1960s? The car approaching the camera looks like an Austin A40 and the car nearest the camera is a 1950s Ford Consul/Zephyr.

A delightfully nostalgic scene before the world went mad!

How it looks in recent times. The closest I could get using Google's Street View image from 2014.

The BMC Farina is an Austin A60 Cambridge, so the photo - a postcard by the look of it - is 1961 or later. A60s were the only model offered with that double chrome trim.

The only clue that there was a country garage there are three concrete bases where the petrol pumps used to be. I think it is a Morris 8 Series E parked in the garage.

I don't think it is, it looks like a six light saloon, the Series E was a four light in either two to four door versions, I think it is more likely to be a Morris 10 or a Wolseley.

Sorry, but the Series E was available as a two door four light or a four door six light saloon.

I believe it is a K2 as the scuttle top is too 'short' to be a K1 tourer, where windscreen can be put flat and the bonnet can still be opened.
