Out of interest there is no original technical drawing of the early door locks is there? As I am restoring mine this would be interesting?

Nylatron ( black nylon ) is an excellent substitute for the silent bloc rubber bushes, requiring no steel sleeves.
With thanks to Barry Walker's expertise.

And I thought you were a stickler for originality. The original bush was a steel inner and steel outer.

Vintage MG Parts had these bespoke produced several years ago and for anyone wishing to fit the correct component for these striker plates, we hold these in stock

I just rebuilt the latches and strikers off my J3333, using Richard's bushings in the strikers.

In a word - perfect.
