Our hard-worked librarian Rich Stott would like you to know that the annual printed listing of Triple-M cars has now been produced and will be available any day now from the library. Same price as last year. Just 100 copies have been printed. It will not be available electronically.
There are a few points worth mentioning:
1. The listing records only those cars that have been allocated a Triple-M Register number. If you are unsure whether your car has been numbered, you can check at https://www.triple-mregister.com/browsereg.php . Otherwise please contact the relevant registrar for your car who will be happy to help - although like all of us they are volunteers so please bear this in mind! Their contact details are on the contacts page of this website.
2. We encourage all owners to make sure that we hold correct and current information about their cars - as well as pictures of the cars and their important elements. The same again, do please contact the registrars to offer info.
3. And finally, a general note for the entire audience, to remind everybody of some important facts about the Register and its operation. These have applied for many years and are listed in detail in the printed book, but to avoid misunderstanding, they bear repeating:
"The Register Committee wishes to make it clear that its records and this edition of the Listing of Cars are compiled solely for the Register’s own purposes and in order to assist owners of Triple-M cars. Despite ‘purple prose’ occasionally seen in adverts from motor traders or sellers and auctioneers, the Register is emphatically not an authenticating or validating organisation. All readers of the Listing would do well to read the explicit disclaimer which appears in the document and study the Register published Guidelines which can be seen at https://www.triple-mregister.org/uploads/retro/register_guidelines.pdf
"The Listing of Cars is published for general information only and the inclusion of any particular car does not – and never has – signified or conferred authenticity. The list includes surviving complete cars and cars that contain only some components originally supplied by the M.G. Car Company. The inclusion or exclusion of any car or specification in this publication is at the sole discretion of Register Committee.
"Neither the Register Committee nor the M.G. Car Club Ltd. accept any responsibility or liability for any information contained in this Listing, or for the exclusion or omission of any such information.
"All information about Triple-M cars is received from owners and third party sources in good faith and is recorded appropriately. Although care is taken in accepting cars for inclusion in the Listing, it is not possible to scrutinise every entry, nor is it possible to verify the accuracy or genuineness of information received which we utilise to compile and update the Register. Anyone thinking of purchasing a Triple-M car should therefore satisfy themselves and arrive at their own judgement as to whether the car is accurately described before parting with any money, as is the case with any second-hand car."
Thanks - and best wishes to all.
