Test fit to PB - difficult to get exactly lined up due to radiator slats. Not sure exact use of 'strip' of material

With no intention to abuse the originality purists, an alternative solution from early Rolls-Royce cooling system/radiator temperature control:
"In early cars, the vanes were hinged at the top and bottom, allowing them to open and shut like Venetian blinds to help the engine reach optimal operating temperature; later cars had fixed vanes because a modern thermostat did the same job."

May I suggest/recommend installing an engine coolant outlet/top hose thermostat, preferably with a by-pass - an automatic control negating the need to manually adjust the muff to the radiator (ref: https://www.triple-mregister.org/forums/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=2968&SearchTerms=top,hose,thermostat)

A quick update for those happy to manually adjust their radiator muff 'thermostat' .....

Photos to illustrate the parking position of the blind with 'thermostat' half open and fully open.

Enjoy

Update:
Just got enough material left for a few more of these, but not many .... if you're interested then please do get in touch.

If we have any left, I plan to take one or two to Stoneleigh in Feb.

Thanks!

I will be taking a couple of these J/P-Type radiator muffs to Stoneleigh on Sunday.

If anyone is interested, please find me around the Triple-M Register stand at various times throughout the day, or ask if I've gone missing for a mo'.

Thanks,
