Interesting that the J has engine mounts but the F doesn't, or are they L?

The L rails are longer because they extend further at the stern, but do they slim down in the same place as the F?

Weren’t the first L Types built using F frames? And the rear extension is only on the L1, not the L2.

The L2 was a cut down L1, different to the F

The F and J chassis are the same at the back, where the rails are shallower when seen from the side. The L was similarly profiled but the profiling was further aft, rather than longer. and so different at the rear spring hangar. It is this difference that could identify these chasses, chassises - what's the plural of chassis? and I can't remember what the difference was and I cannot see whether the ones in the photo extend beyond the rear spring hangar.

I think they are F's but perhaps an L owner could confirm.

Thanks for this clarification, Peter. And isn’t the plural of chassis just chassis?
