Good evening,
Thanks for the responses to my previous questions, it's much appreciated. I'm hoping that someone can help me on another question. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if Captain Noake's J-type still exists. I think I'm right in saying that he had the car shipped out to Germany for Hugh Hamilton.
Ant info would be helpful.
Many thanks Neil

Neil, Are you perhaps thinking of C0279 which was entered by Captain Noakes for Hamilton in the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in July 1932? See Mike Wylie's article in the 2016 Yearbook for more details. According to The Hawke History of MMM Competition Cars the car is in Sweden.

Dear Simon, Thanks so much for the info. It’s much appreciated. That’s the car I’m after. I have a large collection of Triple M photos and will have a look through them. Does the C in the number suggest it’s a J-type? I’ll have another look through the article.
Best wishes
Thanks Neil

No, Neil, the C in the number suggests a C Type!
It carried number 84 in Germany and a month later was at Ards for the TT. Here’s Hamilton with the Marquis de Belleroche at practice for the TT. He crashed and ended up in Ards Hospital and number 30 was carried by J D Barnes in the race.

Hi Simon, Thanks for your reply. I guessed that was the case. The source I found referred to it as a J-type. There’s a lot of mis-information out there. Have revisited the excellent article which clarifies the facts. Many thanks for your help. I’ll leave you in peace now. Very warm wishes
Neil

According to Calvin's Dad (Calvin, of Calvin and Hobbs), the world was still black and white then so although they had colour film, the pictures came out black and white, just as the world was. So they shouldn’t really be colourised. You can read the full explanation here - https://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/2014/11/09
