In fact the spotlight is clearly in different positions in the two photos you posted, Lew. But it gives credence to the notion that the TD everyone is clustered around is Archie's as it clearly has a very similar, and unusual light.

The second of Lew's pics shows the sidelights right at the edge of the wings. There can't be many cars with that mod.

But that’s in racing trim with non-standard cycle wings.

Is this Tom Metcalf's up and coming restoration project - he mentioned having a 6cyl Aireline and they as we all are aware are few and far between.

Thank you for your question but no. Tom is restoring NA 0540 which has a well known history, having spent most of its time in Australia and New Zealand and is now being restored in the USA. This thread on NJ 8074 is an attempt to learn something / anything about the pictured Airline which has no known history. To date we are unable to identify the chassis number for this car or any ownership history whatsoever.

Hi Kevin, My apologies for using hyperbole to emphasize how little we know about this car. I didn't mean to diminish the contribution you have made in identifying the first owner, Basil Gray. That was an outstanding contribution and now I'm hoping for another break through, when we hear more from Hugh.

Just to be clear- that was tongue in cheek. I wasn't offended :-)
