Ok my learned friends I'm in need of a set of nice new mats a passenger and drivers side also a mat for the rear behind the seats......something nice with leather edge binding and maybe an MG logo who makes these and where can I buy them or do I have to get them custom made by an automotive upholsterer.....as always your advice is much appreciated
regards Russ

Russ, The correct carpet is a bit more complex than just a couple of mats. This is one made by Collingburns in 2014.
There is also a piece that covers the prop shaft shroud between the seats. I don’t think there was carpet on the shelf behind the seat but it looks much better with it.
There were some being made five or six years ago that might be worth following up on - have a search of the Traders' Forum but check the 'Current Posts' box
Agh right a full mat set I need a set of them in my car I have gone through the traders forum...there's some nice stuff on there I can see my wallet getting a sound beating but I'm after those mats.....I wonder if that Dutch MG site has a pattern drawing for them....I'll have a look....thanks Simon

Russ, I've dropped you a line via the Forum email system. It’s not very reliable so you may not get it, or it could be in your spam folder. If you don’t get it, my email address is in my profile - drop me a line.
If, as for many people, having original style carpets is not important to you why not just do as you suggest. Make some cardboard patterns and get a local trimmer to make you up some bound carpets in colour of your choice. Get trimmer to sow a neat leather heel patch in front of the pedals. Cheaper and easier to make and easier to get in and out than the complicated ones in the picture above. Terry
as the Collingboure boys have retired I wonder if they still have the patterns or have sold whatever patttern's etc. they had on to another business does anyone know?

I believe Tom Wilsom has all of the patters from Collingbourg. Kimber Creek Ltd. 11541 Trail Ridge Place Zionsville IN 46077 USA Iphone 00-1-317-432-1984 Kimber0251@gmail.com
Hi Russ If you consider the simpler version as suggested by Terry a nice example of how that may look like is shown in a recent auction blurp. for sale on the prewarcar.com web site. My L2 has a very similar patterna and while it may not be strictly original it looks nice and is easy to handle.
New carpets have arrived already which seems almost unbelievable considering they've come all the way from the USA I only ordered and paid for them Monday and they turned up today at 3pm that's nuts......I mean stuff I've ordered from the UK takes way longer than that if I get it in a week it's a miracle......anyway top marks to Tom Wilson Kimber Creek they look good the proof of the pudding will be how they fit when I try and install them....looks like I need a special tool to close the snap fittings....we'll see.....next 6x new Blockley tyres I'm going for the 4.00 x 19's they'll be a little lighter than the 4.5's and we can't afford to waste any power dragging heavy rubber about.....LOL.....just as an aside I might be looking into adding a little more power and Torque and a few modernising touches to make it a little more fail safe in modern traffic having said that I don't want anything that's not going to be irreversible......

Russ, I found that the carpets I got from Tom were such a good fit that when I took it to a trimmer I know to get him to fit the Lift The Dot fasteners he said there was no need for them - the carpet sat perfectly on its own That was four years ago and I’ve never had cause to fit them. So I suggest you just fit the carpet without the fasteners and see how it goes.
