couldn't wait.....new carpets in and as was advised Carpets didn't need fixing because they were quite long and I has to take out the seat cross stop rail thingy basically a piece of metal angle screwed to the floor with wood screws which the front of the seat tightly butts up to stopping the seat moving forwards ....I have no idea if this correct or not....LOL.....anyway carpets fit like a 4 fingered Glove.....Hahaha.....to be fair I didn't expect them to be anywhere near close but they weren't as bad as I expected they'll be just fine once they bed in although I'm not quite sure where these rubber backed "Wilton" carpets were produced maybe Beijing perhaps....LOL....I could be wrong though.....it wouldn't be the first time.....LOL.....anyway sod the expense (and they were expensive) as I didn't have to wait long infact they almost turned up instantly I think they must have been Beamed down to my door ala Star Trek style it's mad ordered and paid for Monday delivered Wednesday all the way from the USA and fitted Thursday (Today)....Hahaha anyways their in done and dusted and talking about dust or maybe it was fine sand the blooming car was full of the stuff and so was the hood it must have been used as a beach buggy in a former life....anyway trusty Henry sorted it out before fitting the new carpets I might add so with a bit of tussle and a lot of faffing job done seat cross stop rails screwed down through carpet into floor and that's going to hold it down and keep it in place for sure I have to say they look the Dogs Danglies so much better than the efforts that came with the car so that's something ticked off the list next Tyres

Russ - the carpet was manufactured in Wales. Your carpet set was sewn in Zionsville Indiana USA. I've used plain hessian backed Wilton type carpet in the past, but for our application in MMMs it's not as pliable or durable.
Glad they fit okay.
Tom Wilson Kimber Creek Ltd. .... where I'm all wrapped up in cutting the wood coachwork for an L1 body

I'm going to make a foot Rest just wondering if there's a standard way that it fixes back to bulkhead / firewall.....I was thinking a piece of wood screwed to bulkhead and the top of the footrest fixed to that with a hinge enabling the foot rest to be raised......I'm guessing there are several ways to do this.....any thoughts

Nope, not the same! But I agree, the technical downloads are well worth taking time to go through but of course the search function doesn’t cover them.
Hunt for my last questions on foot rest. I think the end result was a couple people have it close or exact, though seems to be an item not well documented via a factory drawing or "positively' having survived in original unrestored cars.
