Clearing out some boxes of magazines in the attic I came across this photo of what I think is J2201 which had Register No 646. Is it still extant?

It is listed (with that registration number)in the 2012 printed Register with the note "current owner unknown".

Very curious front apron hold down knob. It looks like a later style bonnet latch handle.

Looks a bit front end heavy with those large headlamps.

The bonnet strap is A BIT STRANGE and the driver's door appears to have been cut away to give more elbow room?

And the rake of the windscreen looks as if this car has encountered too much headwind in the past !

Lew,

Closer scrutiny of the scan would suggest that the bonnet catches are the regular J2 ones and the odd looking apron hold down knob is actually a mark on the photo.

Rob,

It seems to have been a fairly common practice (with the J2 at least) to set the windscreen back at a bit of an angle. I've seen quite a few photos of cars like that, but usually only J2s for some reason.

Last heard of For Sale in Antwerp (1996) I believe, so still out there somewhere.

Car is listed in the 1982 Register as belonging to a J Eio and car had P-type engine and brakes.
1986 Register lists it as belonging to John Eio, P-type engine and 12" brakes.
