My role as moderator of the Worldwide Rover Club Forum and Club Specialist is in conflict with my perception of the role within the MMM forum.

I cannot thank you all enough for your support and your heartfelt comments. I am passionate about my ' affliction ' , I was recently instrumental in getting a rogue restoration ? company investigated and closed down by trading standards. For my service and dedication to the Worldwide Rover Club & the Rover Sports Register, I am the first recipient of the' Founder Members Award ' citing for' Irrepressible Enthusiasm '...now that is an affliction !

I have received more than thirty emails this morning from those of you I now consider as friends, thankyou, because of your positive & enthusiastic comments I will spend today on reflection.

Those of you who have met me will know that I do not make decisions lightly, my role in the judicial system taught me that, those of you I have not met, there is still the opportunity, the loss of my dear friend, neighbour & mentor David Venables had upset me and as the Official Solicitor I often think of how he would have dealt with a situation.

With my Best Regards & Thanks, Chris

Chris,

Don't leave.

I'm not fully understanding your reason, has something upset you?

I'm sure I won't be the first to say, how interesting I found your research and the posts detailing the history of your car and previous owners ( both Cyprus and UK ).

Also your rebuild posts and pictures.

Hopefully I can still visit you again ( when its warmer ).

Rusty.

Don't de-register, just take a break. Come back when you feel up to it.

Take care,

I completely agree with every one else's sentiments expressed here, Chris.

Everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do, but your genuine enthusiasm has been an invaluable source of inspiration.

Take a break if you need to, but don't 'chuck the towel in' just yet!

What do you mean by "deregister" ?
Leave the register?
Leave the forum?
Withdraw your cars from the register?

Can't realy see a reason for any of them.

There are plenty of people Chris who are on the forum and very rarely, and in some cases never, post anything. If you really feel you can't go on joining in discussions why not join them? When you've had enough of peace you can just start again without the trouble of re-registering.

Hello Chris,

I would like to add my name to the growing list of members urging you to remain on the register.

The advice offered by the members is encouraging and supporting, do not deregister.

Your contributions to the Forum are always interesting and informative.

Your MG friend

Russ

May I take this opportunity to thank the many of you who have been in touch on the forum and in private. I have attempted to reply to all of you, if I have missed you then I apologise, there have been so many.

I attempted to report on this forum my issues with a trader, my post was removed.

I will always seek to advise fellow enthusiasts of my experiences with errant traders / individuals who do not provide the appropriate products or services, this will not change.

I will not now deregister and I will rejoin the MG CC. This is in my respect for you all, and in particular the friends and enthusiasts who have supported my position.

I will however not post until Stoneleigh is over. This way I remain true to my conviction and have the opportunity to remain as part of this community. I hope to see many of you at Stoneleigh.

It is possible to add a disclaimer that the opinion of an individual is not necessarily endorsed, as long as there is justification.

As classic cars become more attractive as an investment tool, we are all vulnerable. I feel that will may become an increasing problem.

I will post on my late good friend David Venables.

With my respect to you all, and thanks,

Chris

Chris,

If all this was over a gripe with a trader maybe you should have read the Forum rules - see http://www.triple-mregister.org/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8010
