Blimey! I just started updating the PWP website to 2017 spec. last night and this morning I had an entry - Tony Slattery from Queensland with his M Type (2M1524)! I also had a very nice e-mail this morning from Cat over in Holland to let me know that the Dutch MMM gang are planning to raid PWP 2017. They made a superb addition to PWP 2015 last year, so I look forward very much to welcoming them all again next July.

While I'm on, I have also had a couple of you ask me about the Spitfire at PWP 2016. Here's the gen. (copy/paste from the upcoming Newsletter):

On Saturday, we had flypasts by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire Mk. IIa P7350 with no less than OC BBMF Sqn Ldr Andy ‘Milli’ Millikin at the controls. P7350 is the oldest airworthy Spitfire in the world and the only Spitfire still flying to have actually fought in the Battle of Britain, which was particularly fitting as we had the only airworthy Hawker Hurricane to have flown in the Battle of Britain at last year’s PWP. We also enjoyed the sight and sounds of a wide variety of vintage aircraft taking part in the 2016 Vintage Air Tour, then in the evening we had a visit by Tim Williams in his 1930 DH Puss Moth G-AAZP followed by a close flypast by C-130 Hercules ZH883 from RAF Brize Norton sporting a commemorative tail livery saluting the 50th anniversary of the delivery of the Royal Air Force’s first C-130 Hercules (VX177) in 1966 (see a time lapse of the paint job at https://youtu.be/F35W7rEhYxI). In these markings, ZH883 had made its debut at RIAT just the previous weekend.

All good stuff.

Hi Ian, so long as it doesn't clash with MMM Racing at Cadwell etc, we will be there also. Are there any photo online from this year?
Cheers

Colin,

Hopefully there shouldn't be a conflict - I have heard a whisper that PWP 2017 might become an official MMM Register calendar event next year.

I'm working on getting pics online, but notice that there are several YouTube videos out there already, including Mike Davies-Collie's at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F2FXBNdjrE which I'm sure you will find amusing!

That's a great video.
Cadwell is a VSCC event, so will have to wait and see

Can anyone put me in touch with 571 Photography, alias lansky? He/she took some stunning photos at Pre-War Prescott in July and here is their blog from the day:

http://571photography.blogspot.com/2016/07/pre-war-prescott.html

Evidently they are Cotswolds-based, but I cannot find a way to make contact via their blog, but from the quality of their work, I'd say they must be known within the vintage community.

Thanks, Ian

Sorry I am not able to help with Ian's request but I have one of my own:

Having almost completed a report for the Bulletin about the Pre-war Prescott Cotswold Tour and Navigation Rally I have not yet been able to locate a photo of the rally winners Jap van der Weel and his lady navigator in a J1 with original looking 4 seat body (registration AR-32-98).

If anyone has a suitable photo please e-mail it to me bob@richardsr.plus.com. Please do not post it on the forum as I want to have it fresh in the bulletin.

Hi Ian,
I believe if you use the link that you posted at the very bottom of the page is somewhere where you can make contact with them via comments on line - hope that helps.

I was really hoping to find a pic of D0285 MG1347 going up the hill, but sadly not.

Thanks Colin, I have posted a contact request. I just trawled my photos and don't have one of MG 1347 on the hill, but you might like this one of all eight D Types in the Paddock.

Bob, do you have a Dropbox account? If so, I can upload all of my Sunday pics.
