We have just published details of of the Register's 2016 AGM on Sunday 26th June and you can find the formal details in the Events section of this website.
The meeting is open to any member of the MG Car Club, but particularly those with a Triple-M car. Non-members of the Club are also welcome to attend the meeting as observers.
In addition to hearing about about what we have been doing over the past year to support owners, we will also be demonstrating the new Register database, so we hope that many of you will wish to come along, see the committee at work and have your say! You can be sure of a warm welcome!
The formal notice of the meeting includes an appeal for volunteers to come forward to assist your committee and at the same time to ensure that we have a proper succession plan in place.
Our most pressing requirement is to find a volunteer to take over from Cathelijne Spoelstra as editor of the Yearbook, because the 2015 Yearbook will be her final edition.
Our long-serving Librarian Peter Hemmings also wishes to pass on his responsibilities to a successor.
Furthermore your Chairman is required to vacate office in February 2017 or (if the Club allows, a year later).
So, one way or another we need to refresh the committee membership and we hope that some of you may wish to put your name forward for consideration. This is a golden opportunity for our community of enthusiasts to put something back to support the hobby which we all enjoy so much. You can contact any member of the committee to find out more - our contact details are on this website
Thank you!

We might pop along so long as we are not committed to photographing oldtimer MGs somewhere :)

Here's an update ...
We're pleased to report that a volunteer has come forward to take on the Editorship of the Yearbook. Details later!
There is also still the golden opportunity for one of you to to take on the Librarian's duties. Peter Hemmings is due for a break and can give any interested parties a run down on what is involved. Is there a volunteer out there please?!

The Register held its AGM yesterday, 26th June when the attendees were given a run down on our activities during 2015 and future plans. The finances were also reviewed and found to be in good order.
The members re-elected the three current officers, Dick Morbey (chairman), George Eagle (secretary) and Bob Milton (treasurer), for another year. Two of the three committee members retiring by rotation, namely Mark Dolton, events reporter and race coordinator and Peter Hemmings, librarian were re-elected.
Cathelijne Spoelstra the yearbook editor, who was due to retire by rotation, did not seek re-election, because a successor, Simon Johnston, has been identified and he was elected to the committee in her place. Grateful thanks are due to Cat for the great job she has done in editing the yearbook for seven years during which she has provided us all with interesting and imaginative articles and features. And of course we extend a warm welcome to Simon.
The committee is developing a succession plan, because a number of posts needs to be refreshed. As always we would be very grateful to hear from anyone who feels that they might be willing to support the Register's endeavours either on or off the committee. The door is open to you!
Opportunities include the following: The Chairman. The present incumbent's five year term (imposed by MGCC rules) concludes in the spring of 2017 with the possibility of a one year extension. The Treasurer. A vacancy has arisen because our treasurer Bob Milton wishes to stand down at next year's AGM, once the 2016 accounts have been concluded. The Librarian. After many years in the job Peter Hemmings wishes to take a break. A volunteer has come forward and discussions are underway.
The present committee line up is as follows.
Dick Morbey, Chairman George Eagle, Secretary Bob Milton, Treasurer Graham Arrondelle, Registrar Peter Green, Technical Advisor Mike Linward, Competition Secretary Peter Hemmings, Librarian Digby Gibbs, Bulletin Editor Jeremy Hawke, Safety Fast Scribe Simon Johnston, Yearbook editor Elizabeth Taylor, Advertising co-ordinator Mark Dolton, events reporter and race co-ordinator
Regards, Dick Morbey |

Having been a little closer to the Committee in the past year than previously as a "Subbie", may I say what a superb job they all have done over the past year. I know that our illustrious Chairman is constantly on the 'phone regarding MMM business and how he finds time for anything else is beyond me! The same goes for the other members. Congratulations and well done!
