Nice one Paul- I'll picture you now in the snow, clutching your crankshaft, with your nose frozen to the window :-)

Have a great Christmas there too

Hello, all. The unearthed J2 settled in beautifully next to my MGB in my garage. I have so far removed the brake drum assemblies, hubs and front axle. Thanks to Garry Waiting for helping me to remove the stub axles. I will be at Stoneleigh tomorrow so please say hello if you are there. I'm in a nearby hotel tonight so I'll try to put some pictures on if I can work it out!

Sorry, just realised I haven't taken a picture without the stub axles. Come to Stoneleigh tomorrow as I'm hoping to find someone to straighten it!

Rob

As Paul said, keep us posted.

I suspect you'll find a great number of people on here trying to help in any way they can- it really captures the imagination

Rob, for axle straightening you need Russ Truman, he's betwixt Leeds and Bradford. His number is 01274 612492, he can also sort out your chassis..new rails or strengthening, any bracketery, shrink the eyes in the axle ends new crosstubes and or end castings. Keep trying him, either him or his brother Mick will answer eventually. Mick might be able to sort out J2 body, he used to do all the paneling for Hudson and some of the other body suppliers, maybe still does. Tell him Paul in Luxembourg recommended him and I am sure he can sort you out.
He might be at Stoneleigh, just ask around and see if anyone has seen him.
Paul.

Thanks, Paul. That's brilliant. I had heard of Russ before I bought the J2 but had forgotten about him.

Rob,
speaking of forgetting things..I don't think Russ and Mick work in the workshop on Friday's, so don't call then.
Paul.

Cheers
