I think the sideways lean was because of the much improved club sandwiches

No John, it is the newly restored and rebuilt famous Brooklands Banking.

Personally I think they took it a bit far but what do I know?

John is now hopefully on an even keel!

Well done in taking the MG out on such a cold day!

Gosh I didn't realise that it was such a rotten picture of the misses, it doesn't show up on a 'phone.
Kevin there was picture on the front of the LC&ES magazine (I think) of a member with his Austin Seven (sorry about that) with two of his children standing next to it a long way up the banking and the camera was held in the plane of the banking, so the car looked level and the children were leaning over at an angle, very impressive.

The ability to rotate images when uploading is on my to-do list. I rotated John's images before I saw that George had done it.

I have just found the picture referred to in my post above. It is on the front of the LC&ES magazine no 121 and is Spring 2005. It shows Matthew Boroweicki's Austin Seven (oops said it again) and his daughter Lesleyand son Ben. Sadly my scanner doesn't seem to be working but I'll keep on trying.

John
If the picture is taken with a "smart(?)" phone or camera (one which rotates the image when you rotate the viewer) there is extra code embedded within the file to enable that to happen. Our upload system does not (at the moment) read that information so the image is presented in whatever orientation it was stored (not taken). Fixing that is on my to-do list (along with finishing my MG amongst other things).
In the meantime, if you download the picture to your computer first and then show it in the photo viewer, then rotate it the right way up and save it, that extra code is not saved and it will display correctly when uploaded to the forum.

John good to have faces to go with the Saint Christopher badge I acquired from you, as an update, you will remember it was a Murray and Charlton company badge, not long ago I met up with an ex-client who I vaguely remembered was a Charlton. Turns out she clearly remembers her father insisting have the badge on all the family cars and I plan hopefully soon to call on her to try to record her memories of the setting up and running of the family business in Tyneside.

Thanks Richard, but that is John E in the picture not me, I'm behind the camera, or should I say 'phone. It is amazing what you can find. I visited New Zealand in 2008 and found the remains of an 18/80 I had brought in 1963 and sold in 1967, he even had the receipt I had issued when I sold it. My wife remarked that my signature hadn't changed in 50 years. Of course I had signed it over a twopenny stamp, as one was required to do in those days.

Kevin, well, they are definitely both strongly engaged in the sport - even if Ben appears to have grown out of the car! See the rear seat passengers. They are perennial Pre-War Prescott supporters with their Dad.

John C- you might appreciate this. It's not moved since you saw it (nor for many years before that!).

(and for everyone else's benefit, no this is not my car)
