0254 is an awfully early chassis number, but I see late wings and headlamp stalks in the pic? |

2M0254 - not on my copy of the Register.
If correct - the fourth one made, and the oldest known MMM car
I doubt very much that 0254 is correct.
Any purchaser should ask for a image of the chassis stamp.
Any comments on what would be a historic M from Mr Dalby ??>
Have now looked at the advert. Under the image there is a note that the MMM registrar is happy with it and a Register number has been allocated. So maybe the 1931 date is incorrect. Note toi self - read the instructions before doing the job !! |

Re the dumbirons, I'm a bit suspicious that both appear over-sprayed in red primer - evidence of replacement? |

Mike Dalby confirmed the chassis number some time ago. The car has appeared on eBay. It seems fairly clear the collection of parts along with the chassis is from several other sources.
The brake pedal mounting (with a Minor pedal) is apparently from a later chassis.
There are lots of details to spot but the gearbox is neither Minor nor M-type but from a Morris Family Eight.

I can't see any support brackets on the radiator shell either. One for the braver restorer, I think, though, if that chassis number is genuine,it would be good to see a car restored to the earliest spec.

The owner contacted me a couple of weeks ago, asking if I wanted to buy a 1934 MG project.
I soon ascertained there was very little to get too excited about, in term of a random collection of M type parts. I suggested they should ebay it.
£5,500, I don’t think so !
