I have a number of 8" Lucas headlamps but all of the rims are "L" section as per PA/PBs. I need "J" section ones but fortunately Garry Waiting has made tooling to convert the former to the latter. However I have reflectors with "half moons" that fit into the headlamp bowls and others that fit into the rims with "W" spring clips. Can anyone offer advice on which type of reflector fits which type of rim. I am minded to fit the reflectors into the rim on the basis that if water leaks into the lamp it will be to the back of the reflector and so won't damage the silvering. The only disadvantage will be the need to remove the reflector to change a blown bulb. I must add that I am trashing the solenoid dip and using twin filament bulbs - I will simply solder the two parts of the dipping reflector together.
Cheers
