Here is a close up of the UM warranty plate

Also I have a video clip of it running but unable to add that to my post. It appears to be running well. Richard Edmonds is a friend of mine so asked him for some extra info. It was on the road until fairly recently and use quite extensively in the South West I believe

Hello, Ian. Thanks very much for the close up picture of the UM warranty plate. I’ve never seen one before. Regards, Chris |

I think it's just an indication that the car has a tale to tell. |

I saw the car today and it does run. It is worth noting the block is cracked along the off side (it is visible in the photos) and water seeps out whilst the engine is running. Water is cheap, but I reckon you'd need a new block if you wanted to go more than a few miles.

At that figure I my guess would be it ends up as a dreaded K3 copy?

A good K3 rep, to me, looks an infinitely more interesting car. Is the K1 tourer really that special to look at? Rich

I seem to remember the K1 was a superb family car...
Pa commuted Norwich to London occasionally and always came in with a smile... |

Beauty is in the eye Rich and I cannot agree with you.
The K3 rep is not an endangered species but rather one with no natural predators. The K1 in contrast is very much endangered and, as with so many species in this perilous position, man is the predator that makes it so.

We are most fortunate to be the current custodians of K1-0411a restored and very original marvellous and now very rare ( perhaps almost the rarest of all triple M cars currently surviving.) The the most comfortable and pleasant riding of all, is a pure joy to drive and is the epitome of comfort and luxury of the era. Silky smooth six cylinder power emitting a very pleasant exhaust note into crisp morning air, preselector gearbox and brakes that work very well indeed. Room in the back seat for family participating in our Aussie Pre-War Triple M events, which is something we can’t do in any of our other triple M cars. |

I love my K1 tourer and it’s great for family fun. My kids are 3 and 5 and they absolutely love it! Happy times…. One day it will be there’s to continue the fun..
